The Osiris Hotel in downtown Cairo is a real gem. For what one gets in terms of price (it was so reasonable I was not expecting such a lovely room and hotel), quality of room (spotless and comfortable with plenty of hot water and good water pressure), amenities (such as a terrace with your room!), location (walking distance to many sites), and service (5-star!) this hotel is an excellent choice. The hotel has a fabulous downtown location only a 10-minute walk to the Egyptian Museum, great amenities which include good wi-fi in the rooms and common area, air-conditioned rooms, an incredible roof-top terrace, food and front desk available 24/7, a good breakfast with a variety of foods and a chef who will get you anything you want, and a staff that speaks many languages and always offers 5-star service. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and any problem or need is attended to immediately. Their airport shuttle service is great and the staff is always there to help you with taxis, directions, advice, and a persistently kind and pleasant attention to your enjoyment of Egypt and your stay in the hotel, and your needs. I wanted to use the Metro and Karam even gave me one of his subway tickets! And - you can come here without making any tour plans. The hotel staff will plan you any trip around Egypt that you want – Cairo sites, Luxor, Alexandria, Giza, St Catherine’s, etc. - with a reliable and knowledgeable guide who speaks your language, an air-conditioned car or van with driver, train or plane tickets, and at a price that is more than reasonable. Carlos planned me a last minute – next day trip to Alexandria and a Nile River dinner cruise that were both fabulous and cost less than the ones I booked online. The atmosphere here is very comfortable and the guests clearly like being here. This hotel more than earns its stars and rating, and the service really is 5-star! I loved it here and will certainly stay on my next visit. Thank you Osiris Hotel for making my stay in Cairo so enjoyable!

I cannot say I was displeased with anything about the hotel or my stay there.

The proximity to Tahrir square and Egyptian hotel and the ladies who clean there are delightful.

Not friendly male staff, exhorbant tour prices ( more expensive than any hotel we checked into, the guide makes only 100 ep while the hotel pockets the remaining 800 ep and the guide knew less than we did and had to refer to his book often), mediocre service, breakfast not included as advertised and they had very creative math skills that did not end well for the guest and "forgot" to give back change and refused when asked about it later.

    Fabulous

The staff was terrific. Very well-kept hotel. The balconies and rooftop deck were great.

The air-conditioner was a little weak, and the mattress a little stiff. Otherwise, no complaints.

    Good

The day staff at Osiris were polite and helpful, if not overly friendly / chatty. The room was a comfortable size and good value for the money I paid, compared to the other hotels on offer. I met the owner Nabil and he was very friendly and gave me some extra advice. The hotel also offers booking services for day tours, e.g. The Pyramids, but I had already booked mine so I can't comment on the value here.

Take this with a grain of salt, as this was my first time in Cairo and I was experiencing a bit of culture shock. I left my webcam on when i went out one day and the cleaning lady looked through my jacket pockets and folder containing travel documents, and also went into my toiletries bag and used my cologne and roll-on deodorant. When I mentioned this to the owner he asked if anything was stolen (it wasn't) and his response was along the lines of women like these things, there's not much us men can do about it. The hotel was also a little bit difficult to spot as I didn't see any outside signage so make sure you have your directions well sorted, I appreciate it's not the end of the world but it wasn't quite the response I was expecting. As I say, I know i was in a very different culture and there was no real harm done, but it left a sour taste in my mouth.

    Fabulous

    Nice helpfull owner. Nice rooms.

The entrance, especially at night when the night guard has to open the elevator door from the outside.

    Exceptional

    Good

    Very good
